For entry-level security installations or a retrofit of a security system with existing tape VCRs, the new SANYO DSR-300R one-channel unit is an ideal choice, offering many features in a small, low-cost package. Removable HDD architecture offers flexible, tape-like storage making extended high quality recordings possible as well as offering efficiency, speed, economy, security, and convenience for multi-system users. With superior horizontal resolution of 520 TV lines with 60 fps, high-quality simultaneous recording and playback is achieved. The DSR-300R uses the Motion JPEG format for recording and playback which makes it possible to record and playback video at 60 fields/sec even with the superior horizontal resolution of 520 TV lines. The DSR-300R is easy-to-use, yet it incorporates many advanced features in a small package. Because it's housed in a compact half-rack design, it's ideal for tight spaces. The DSR-300R is 210mm wide and two units fit side-by-side in a 19" rack. A removable front tray makes it convenient to remove and store the HDDs. For added security, the case design includes a lock, so that HDD removal requires the use of a special key. An optional tray (VA-DT300) is available for ease of installation and storage. For even more storage, multiple DSR-300R recorders can be connected in a series, allowing extended recording at high resolution. Features include five picture quality settings, 27 different recording speeds, and audio recording so the user can select the most suitable recording mode for each situation. In addition, the DSR-300R features five different search functions, a big improvement over VCRs that require forwarding and rewinding tape to find an event. Six playback functions make it easy for the user to view the playback. The DSR-300R has three recording modes, a built-in motion sensor and a CF Type II Expansion Slot so that data can be transferred to a PC
